Victory's Banner Restaurant, Chicago “The most peaceful place I know these days is:
VICTORY’S BANNER Restaurant Since people have accused me of being a vegetarian even
before I owned my first pair of Birkenstocks, I can easily match that
fantasy by eating here. (Just don’t tell that I like my steak
rare.) Not only is the food superb (they serve breakfast & lunch),
but the service nurtures too. Add colorful saris and a cheerful but
soothing décor and everybody I’ve recommended this spot
to has become a Victory’s Banner regular. I repeatedly order
Erin’s Eggless Wonder with Chai and am often seduced by their
flourless chocolate cake. They gave me the recipe for the cake which
I made for the only time last Thanksgiving. Too many pots & pans
to wash: let the restaurant do the baking and enjoy!
