what we've done - past projects

Our landscape designs range widely in terms of addressing the individual taste, life style and architecture [1] embodied in our clients’ sites. We are equally intrigued when designing for a large suburban site [2] as for an intimate Victorian row house [3] on a narrow city street.

Our designs frequently include hardscapes [4], such as walkways [5], fences and decks; we do water features as well as rooftop gardens [6].

In approaching landscape, we consistently highlight such factors as strong form [7], subtle detail [8], environmental responsibility [9] and affordability [10]. Notable among our clients is their desire to have gardens that are individually tailored and contribute to a healthy environment

Our most successful landscapes are those where we have integrated the site-specific conditions [11] with a coherent aesthetic. In urban yards, this means we often design within the context of motorists, dogs, shade [12] and snow removal.

Suburban properties raise other considerations such as drainage and proper screening. We like the fact that city soils usually differ from the heavy clay soil of most surrounding suburbs; these diverse circumstances have provided us with the opportunity to formulate two types of plant palettes. [13] [14] The horticultural world is always in flux, thus, we continually update the plant material we employ.
