Most Internet blurbs do not do justice to this spectacular garden,
which I now count as among my favorite landscapes in the U.S. Read
a bit of its history on-line or in INNISFREE:
An American Garden by its landscape architect, Lester Collins.
Just as I would encourage a trip to the Grand Canyon or Wright’s
Fallingwater this is one of our true national treasures. Innisfree’s
Asian-inspired garden embodies many concepts with which I was unfamiliar.
The integration of stone, topography and landscape architecture astounded
me and kept pulling me through the space so that I viewed sections
from different perspectives. Innisfree also boasts several unique
water features. It’s a great spot for kids, provided that they
are mature enough to spend the day required to experience Innisfree’s
divinity.
